Surprising Facts about Sneezing!
Posted on March 9, 2010 · Leave a Comment
Having lived in Georgia all my life, I’m fully aware of what Spring has to bring. Pollen, and lots of it. This means that while I be welcoming the warm weather, I won’t be welcoming my fits of sneezing. This year I wanted to be proactive about the infamous sinus season and I started an investigation on ways to treat or prevent allergies. During my research I stumbled upon some surprising facts about sneezing. We’ve all heard the false facts “your heart stops beating when you sneeze” and “your eyes can pop out if you sneeze with your eyes opens.” But there are also some pretty interesting facts about sneezing that are true.
- Sneezes start in your nerves
- Sneezes keep your body safe
- Plucking your eyebrows can cause you to sneeze
- You can’t sneeze in your sleep
- The longest sneezing spree is 978 days (according to Library of Congress’ website)
- Sunshine may make you sneeze
- Your workout may make you sneeze
Another interesting fact about sneezing from WebMD:
“A post-sneeze blessing stems from the ancient belief that sneezing is a near-death experience, and that a blessing will prevent your soul or sneeze from escaping your body and will deter the devil from entering in”

You can choose from the Filet Mignon, the Leg of Lamb, Chicken Breast and more! They also serve salads and tasteful desserts. Sal Grosso is located off of Powers Ferry Rd. be sure to check it out! Alice Premieres tomorrow!
Posted on March 4, 2010 · Leave a CommentOn Friday March 5, Disney’s Alice in Wonderland premieres in USA. This well anticipated movie has been directed by Tim Burton. Tim (yes we’re on a first name basis) has directed very original and clever movies over the past few years and Disney’s Alice in Wonderland is another knotch on his belt.
Being Smart…

We’ve all seen them on the roads, and we’ve all taken a minute to just watch. The Smart car. It looks sort of robotic and toy-like. No one ever really thought a car like this would reach America but it has and people are falling in line to buy one. Being in the market for a car myself, I researched into buying a Smart car. Is it really smart to buy one of these small toy-green cars?
The price is very appealing when you look into the Pure and Passion Coupe but you have to be willing to sacrifice some things like power windows and two extra passengers. With 12 cubic feet of luggage room, this small car gives you space. It also features a Tridion Safety cell (made out of steel and set to the standard of a Mercedes Benz) for those of you who were worried about this car’s safety. The perks are great too, if there aren’t any parking spaces left with only one small one and Atlanta has also reserved parking spaces for being Smart.
Unique Coffee Tables

I’m known for being eclectic, with all my things. I love going to antique shops, yard sales, and thrift stores to shop. Once I buy my items I try to find a way to make them my own. Recently I bought a coffee table for such a great price. The table was in bad shape though. It had dings, scratches and the paint was coming off. While I don’t like to fully alter my things I knew I had to this time. I started looking around for projects and revamp ideas I could use for my coffee table. I knew I had to sand the coffee table over again, so I did that ahead of time and kept looking. From DIY network I found a great way to revamp my coffee table and definitely make it my own. While I work differently with the pattern, here’s the idea.

The month of March has a lot to offer at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. There will be a Japanese Film Festival featuring three films on Saturdays throughout March at 8 p.m. The first film being shown is The Harimaya Bridge. Personally I think it’s a great experience to see different films. This trip explores the relationships between family, the collision of modernity and tradition, and the themes of honor, responsibility, and individuality.
On March 20, The Allure of the Automobile will be exhibited. This is the exhibition I’m most excited about! 18 of the World’s rarest automobiles from the 1930s to the 1960s will be featured. The featured automobiles have won awards at events such as the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, broken records on racetracks, and were previously owned by such noted car enthusiasts as Hollywood legends Clark Gable and the late Steve McQueen.
Oh Johnny!

Even though he’s going in ranked 6th for tonight’s Free Style performance in Vancouver, you can count on Johnny Weir to have some fun when he’s skating! He had the crowd clapping during his short program two nights ago. Johnny Weir isn’t afraid to have a little fun while skating, you can see that from his exhibition performance in the U.S. Nationals where he qualified for the Olympics. Personally I love his unique self and I enjoy his skating. It’s the passion in people that make you love them. Some people even go as far as to call him the Lady Gaga of figure skating! Click here to see his short program performance if you missed it.

The fact that a personal trainer is coming to visit is great because of the demand for them, it’s a steal that you can ask your questions that have been bugging you. Also for only $49.99 you can have your teeth bleached, that’s a steal compared to the price they charge you at the dentists’ office and the fact that Crest strips cost $33.00!! Come out and visit the leasing office tomorrow night after work and have a look!

Celebrating Black History Month
Posted on February 11, 2010 · Leave a Comment
February is Black History Month, we all know that. But do we take the time to celebrate with our busy lives? There are so many interesting facts and events that relate to Black History and sometimes with our busy schedules we don’t take the time to appreciate where we have come from and what others have done in hopes for a better state. I believe Atlanta is a great hub-bub for Black History, with Martin Luther King Jr.’s memorial here and his museum we have a great resource. I recently went to the King Center located in Atlanta and had the opportunity to experience the lessons over again. It’s truly a great experience and Atlanta is privileged. This month there will be a parade in honor of Black History Month on the 27th in Atlanta on Auburn Ave.
I can’t wait to be there and enjoy it.
